# Membership Benefits (/docs/memberships/benefits)

**Benefits** are what a membership actually does for the customer. Each benefit grants discounted pricing on activities, and a plan can have several benefits — for example, one for weekdays and another for weekends.

What a benefit grants [#what-a-benefit-grants]

A benefit applies **activity pricing** — a discount on the normal price of an activity. You choose how the discount is calculated:

| Discount type | What it does | Example |
| --------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- | --------------- |
| **Percentage off** | Takes a percentage off the normal price | 20% off |
| **Amount off**        | Subtracts a fixed amount                              | $10 off         |
| **Flat member price** | Sets the price members pay, ignoring the normal price | Members pay $15 |

What it applies to [#what-it-applies-to]

A benefit targets **activities**:

* **All activities** — leave the target list empty to discount every activity at the location.
* **Specific activities** — choose one or more activities, and the benefit applies only to those.

Day-of-week restrictions [#day-of-week-restrictions]

Optionally limit a benefit to certain **days of the week**. Leave it unrestricted to apply any day, or select specific days (for example, Monday–Friday only) to drive midweek demand.

Usage caps [#usage-caps]

You can cap how often a benefit is redeemed:

* **Monthly limit** — maximum redemptions per calendar month, resetting on the 1st.
* **Yearly limit** — maximum redemptions per calendar year, resetting January 1.

Leave a cap empty for unlimited. The two caps **stack** when both are set — for example, *3 per month, up to 30 per year*.

Combining benefits [#combining-benefits]

Because a plan can hold multiple benefits, you can express richer offers:

* A weekday benefit (Mon–Fri, 20% off) plus a weekend benefit (Sat–Sun, 10% off).
* A generous discount on your headline activity plus a smaller one on everything else.

<Callout type="info">
  The benefits attached to a plan are locked in for each customer at the moment they buy. Editing a plan's benefits later changes what **future** buyers get — it doesn't retroactively change memberships already sold.
