# Supported Countries & Currencies (/docs/payments/countries-and-currencies)

Every Resytech company has a **country**, a **currency** and a **number style**. Your customers book, pay, get receipts and get refunds in your currency, and every amount in Resytech is in it: prices, payments, refunds, gift cards, vouchers, memberships and reports.

Your Country, Currency and Number Style [#your-country-currency-and-number-style]

| Setting          | What it means                                                                                                                                                                                                       |

| **Country** | Where your business is based. Your Stripe account must be in the same country. |
| **Currency** | The currency you charge in. Every location in your company charges in it, and customers always pay in it. |
| **Number style** | How amounts, dates and times are written: the decimal mark, the thousands separator, where the currency symbol goes, and the date and time formats. It starts as your country's usual style. Words stay in English. |

Resytech sets all three when it creates your company. You can see them on Company Settings > **General**, under **Country**, **Currency** and **Amounts look like** (a sample amount in your number style). They're read-only there. To change them, contact Resytech support.

<Callout type="warn">
  Your country and currency lock after your first payment, because every amount saved from then on is in that currency. Resytech counts any payment, order, gift card, voucher or membership. The number style can still change at any time, since it only affects how amounts, dates and times are written.

Your Stripe Account [#your-stripe-account]

Your Stripe account must be in the same country as your company and pay out in the same currency.

* When Resytech creates the Stripe account for a company outside the United States, it creates it in your company's country.
* For a company that charges in any currency other than US dollars, Resytech checks before every online payment that your Stripe account's currency matches your company's. If it doesn't, or Resytech can't confirm your Stripe account's currency, the payment is refused.
* Customers then see "This business can't take online payments right now. Please contact them directly." Staff taking a card payment in the dashboard see the reason, for example that your Stripe account pays out in a different currency.

See [Stripe Setup](https://docs.resytech.com/docs/payments/stripe-setup) for connecting your account.

Smallest Card Payment [#smallest-card-payment]

Stripe won't take a card payment below a minimum that depends on the currency. The table above lists it for each one. Resytech uses it in three places:

* **Deposits.** A booking is only split into a deposit and a balance when both parts are at least the minimum.
* **Balances charged automatically.** A remaining balance below the minimum isn't charged to the saved card. Resytech emails the customer a payment link at the due date instead.
* **Activity Vouchers.** An order that totals less than the minimum can't be bought.

How Amounts Look [#how-amounts-look]

Resytech writes every amount in your number style: in the dashboard, on your booking pages, and in emails, receipts, invoices and text messages. Here is the same amount in five number styles:

| Number style           | Example      |
| ---------------------- | ------------ |
| United States (en-US)  | $1,234.50    |
| United Kingdom (en-GB) | £1,234.50    |
| Denmark (da-DK)        | 1.234,50 kr. |
| Germany (de-DE)        | 1.234,50 €   |
| Switzerland (de-CH)    | CHF 1’234.50 |

Text messages can't carry every character. In text messages, amounts use ordinary spaces, and a currency symbol that SMS can't carry, such as zł or Kč, is replaced by the three-letter currency code after the number: 150,00 PLN.

How Dates and Times Look [#how-dates-and-times-look]

Unless your number style is US English (en-US), dates and times use your style's own formats and month and day names, and its 12- or 24-hour clock. A company in Denmark sees, for example:

| What                   | Example                   |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------- |
| Date                   | 10.08.2030                |
| Date with the month    | 10. aug. 2030             |
| Time                   | 17.30                     |
| Weekday, date and time | fre. 30. okt. 2026, 14.05 |

This applies in emails, text message template variables, PDFs, your booking pages, the booking widget and the dashboard. Words around dates, such as "at" or "Today", stay in English. A company with the US English style keeps US dates and times, such as Jan 15, 2026 and 2:00 PM.

Text messages can't carry every letter, so when a month or day name uses letters they can't carry, template variables write the numeric date instead. That can happen in some styles, such as Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Greek, Bulgarian and Thai. See [Use Template Variables](https://docs.resytech.com/how-to/marketing/use-template-variables#date-and-time-variables).

Typing Amounts [#typing-amounts]

Price fields in the dashboard, such as activity, equipment and add-on prices, fees, coupons and refunds, read what you type in your number style. In Denmark, for example, you can type 299,50 or 1.234,50. The thousands separator is optional, so 1234,50 works too.

If your number style uses a comma for decimals, a single "." with at most two digits after it (and no comma) also counts as the decimal point, so 12.50 is twelve and a half. Any other "." separates thousands: 1.250 is one thousand two hundred and fifty.

The same rules apply when customers type their own amount on your booking pages or waivers, such as a gift card amount or a tip.

<Callout type="warn">
  Some amount boxes in the dashboard are still your browser's standard number box and don't follow your number style yet, for example the amount when you add a payment to a booking, gift card amounts, membership plan prices and POS product prices. In those, type a "." for decimals and no thousands separator, for example 1250.50, and check the amount before you save.
</Callout>

Limits Set in US Dollars [#limits-set-in-us-dollars]

A few safety limits were set in US dollars, such as the largest gift card you can issue ($10,000). For other currencies, Resytech scales them to a similar size: for a company that charges in Danish kroner, the largest gift card is 70,000 kroner.

VAT and GST [#vat-and-gst]

If the prices you set already include VAT or GST, turn on **Prices include tax** for each location on **Resources** > **Taxes & Fees**. Customers then pay exactly your prices, and checkout, emails and invoices show the tax inside the total, for example "incl. 25% VAT". While the setting is off at a location outside the US and Canada, the page reminds you that many countries require prices to include it.

You can also add your tax registration number, such as your CVR number in Denmark, under **Tax ID** in Company Settings > **General**, so it's printed on receipts and invoices. Activity Vouchers sold where prices include tax have the VAT inside their price too.

See [Prices That Include Tax](https://docs.resytech.com/docs/payments/taxes-and-fees#prices-that-include-tax) and [Set Up VAT-Inclusive Prices](https://docs.resytech.com/how-to/payments/set-up-vat-inclusive-prices).

Only in US Dollars for Now [#only-in-us-dollars-for-now]

These features work only for companies that charge in US dollars (USD):

* **Card readers and Tap to Pay**, for bookings and in the point of sale.
* **Card payments in the point of sale**: card readers, Tap to Pay, saved cards and cards typed in. Cash, checks and other payments you record by hand still work.
* **The online store.**
* **Live events**, including ticket sales and event listing fees.
* **Raffles.**

For a company that charges in another currency, Resytech refuses these, and the dashboard hides the option or shows a notice such as "The online store isn't available yet for accounts that charge in DKK." Contact Resytech support if you need one of them.

Integrations, Scripts and Templates [#integrations-scripts-and-templates]

Integrations, scripts and templates use your company's currency too:

* **Webhooks**: events that carry money also carry a `currency` field with your currency code. See the [Webhooks developer reference](https://docs.resytech.com/docs/plugins/webhooks-reference#amounts-and-currency).
* **AI assistants (MCP)**: prices, balances and revenue are in your currency, and results name it. See [AI Assistants (MCP)](https://docs.resytech.com/docs/integrations/mcp-server).
* **OCTO resellers**: prices are in your currency. See the [OCTO API reference](https://docs.resytech.com/docs/plugins/octo-reference#pricing-octopricing).
* **Tracking scripts**: the completed-booking data includes `currency`, so you can pass the right currency to your tracking tools. See [Add Custom CSS and Scripts](https://docs.resytech.com/how-to/checkout/add-custom-css-and-scripts#purchase-complete-javascript) and [Checkout Events](https://docs.resytech.com/developers/checkout-events#checkoutcomplete).
* **Email and SMS templates**: money variables are written in your currency and number style. See [Use Template Variables](https://docs.resytech.com/how-to/marketing/use-template-variables).
