# Equipment Reports (/docs/reporting/equipment-reports)



Overview [#overview]

Understand how your rental fleet is performing. Access from **Dashboard > Reports > Equipment**. The equipment report covers rental volume, revenue generation, utilization rates, and popularity scoring for every piece of equipment in your inventory.

Performance Summary [#performance-summary]

The main performance table provides a per-item overview:

| Metric               | Description                                        |
| -------------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| **Equipment name**   | The name of the equipment item                     |
| **Total rentals**    | Number of times this item was rented in the period |
| **Revenue**          | Total revenue generated by this item               |
| **Utilization rate** | Percentage of available units that were rented     |
| **Total quantity**   | Number of units available in your inventory        |

The performance summary is displayed as a **horizontal bar chart** ranking your top 10 equipment items by revenue.

Equipment Revenue Over Time [#equipment-revenue-over-time]

Track how each equipment item's revenue changes over time:

* Revenue per equipment item broken down by period (day, week, or month)
* Compare revenue trajectories across multiple items
* Identify items with growing or declining rental revenue

Utilization Analysis [#utilization-analysis]

A detailed breakdown of inventory usage:

| -------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Equipment name**   | The item being measured                                          |
| **Utilization rate** | Percentage of available units that were rented during the period |
| **Available units**  | Total number of units in inventory                               |
| **Rented units**     | Number of units that were rented                                 |

High utilization may indicate an opportunity to add more units. Consistently low utilization suggests the item may need a pricing adjustment, better promotion, or eventual retirement.

Popularity Scoring [#popularity-scoring]

Each equipment item receives a popularity score based on rental frequency:

| Data Point           | Description                                                     |
| -------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Equipment name**   | The item being measured                                         |
| **Rental count**     | Total number of rentals                                         |
| **Popularity score** | Calculated score based on rental volume relative to other items |

The popularity score helps you quickly compare demand across your fleet without needing to normalize for price differences.

Filters [#filters]

The equipment report supports the full set of common filters:

* **Date range** — start and end dates
* **Equipment** — narrow to specific equipment items
* **Activities** — filter to equipment rentals associated with specific activities
* **Sources** — filter by booking source
* **Statuses** — filter by booking status
* **Group by** — aggregate time-series data by `day`, `week`, or `month`

Fleet Insights [#fleet-insights]

Use the equipment report data to make fleet management decisions:

* **High utilization, high revenue** — these are your star performers. Consider expanding inventory to capture unmet demand.
* **High utilization, low revenue** — pricing may be too low. Test a price increase.
* **Low utilization, high revenue** — niche items that generate good revenue per rental. Maintain but do not over-invest.
* **Low utilization, low revenue** — candidates for retirement, deep discount promotions, or bundling with popular activities.
* **Popularity trends** — use period-over-period revenue data to catch items gaining or losing traction before utilization metrics fully reflect the change.
