# Publishing (/docs/website/publishing)

Your website has a **draft**, which the editor saves automatically as you work, and a **published** version that visitors see. Editing never changes the live website until you publish.

Publishing [#publishing]

Click **Publish** in the editor toolbar. The dialog lists what will change, for example "About", "Private tours (new page)" or "Design and site settings". Click **Publish** to confirm. Visitors see the update within about a minute.

If something needs fixing first, such as a spotlight section without an activity, the editor lists it above the preview and publishing waits until it is fixed. Your draft is saved either way.

Switching templates [#switching-templates]

**Template settings > Template** switches your draft between Plain and Harbor. Your pages, sections, text and settings all carry over; a colour preset the other template doesn't have changes to that template's default. The live website keeps the old template until you publish.

Taking your website offline [#taking-your-website-offline]

**Unpublish website**, at the bottom of the settings panel, takes your website offline while keeping your draft. Pages can stay visible for up to a minute while caches clear. Publish again to bring it back.

If your website is disabled [#if-your-website-is-disabled]

Resytech support can disable a website, for example while a problem is investigated. A disabled website is offline and can't be edited. Contact support to restore it; it comes back as a draft, ready for you to review and publish.
