# Manage Equipment Media (/how-to/equipment/manage-equipment-media)



Equipment photos are displayed on your booking page, equipment cards, and detail views. High-quality images help customers understand what they are renting and increase conversion rates. The first image in your media order becomes the default thumbnail shown on equipment cards and listings.

Upload images [#upload-images]

1. In the sidebar, click **Equipment**, then select the equipment item.
2. Navigate to the **Media** section on the equipment detail page.
3. Click **Upload Images** or drag and drop files into the upload area.
4. Select one or more image files. Only image file formats are accepted (JPG, PNG, WebP, etc.).
5. Wait for the upload to complete. The page refreshes automatically when done.

Uploaded images are stored in cloud storage and served via CDN for fast loading. Both a full-resolution version and a thumbnail are generated automatically.

Set the default (primary) image [#set-the-default-primary-image]

The image with the lowest order position (position 0) is used as the default thumbnail on equipment cards and listings.

* When you upload your first image, it automatically becomes the default.
* To change the default, reorder images so the desired photo is in the first position.

Reorder images [#reorder-images]

1. In the **Media** section, drag images to rearrange their order.
2. The new order saves automatically.

The order determines:

* Which image appears as the primary thumbnail on equipment cards.
* The sequence in which images are displayed in galleries and detail views.

Delete an image [#delete-an-image]

1. In the **Media** section, find the image you want to remove.
2. Click the **Delete** button on the image.
3. Confirm the deletion.

After deletion, the remaining images are automatically re-indexed to maintain a contiguous order. If you delete the primary image, the next image in order becomes the new default.

Tips [#tips]

* **Upload your best photo first.** The first image is the one customers see on equipment cards and search results. Make it count.
* **Use multiple angles.** Upload 3-5 images showing the equipment from different perspectives -- front, side, interior, and any notable features.
* **Keep file sizes reasonable.** While there is no strict limit, smaller files upload faster and load faster for customers. Aim for under 5MB per image.
* **Add-ons also support media.** You can upload images for add-on items separately from their parent equipment. See [Create Add-Ons](/how-to/equipment/create-addons).
* **Deletion is permanent.** Once an image is deleted from cloud storage, it cannot be recovered.
