Venues
Save a venue's details once, reuse them on every event, and give the venue its own public page.
A venue is a saved profile for a place you put on events: address, time zone, capacity, artwork, and links. Save it once under Venues and pick it whenever you create an event instead of retyping the same address every time.
Venues are optional. An event can have its venue name and address typed in by hand. What a saved venue adds is reuse, a time-zone default, and a public venue page that lists everything you have coming up there.
What a Venue Is For
- Fill in an event's venue name and address from a list rather than by hand
- Default new events at that place to the right time zone
- Give buyers a page of their own at
resyevents.com/v/{slug}listing your upcoming shows there - Hold the artwork (logo, cover photo, photos of the space) and the venue's social links
- Set a house storefront theme for every event held there
Creating and Editing a Venue
Go to Venues and click Add Venue. Only the venue name is required, so you can save a stub and fill in the rest later. After it is saved, opening a venue gives you three tabs:
| Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Details | Name, description, address, time zone, capacity, website, contact, internal notes, theme, and the Active toggle. |
| Media | Logo, cover photo, and the photo gallery. |
| Social Links | Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn profile URLs. |
Details and Social Links each have their own Save button. The Media tab has none: every upload or removal there saves as soon as you make it.
Fields
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Venue name | Required, up to 120 characters. This is what buyers see on the event page and at the top of the venue page. |
| Description | Appears in the "About" section of the public venue page, so write it for buyers. |
| Address line 1 / 2, City, State, Postal code, Country | Combined into the single-line address shown to buyers and copied onto events. Every part is optional. |
| Time zone | Events created at this venue default to this time zone. See Time Zone below. |
| Max capacity | A reference number for your own planning. It is not shown to buyers and does not limit ticket sales. |
| Website | The venue's own site. Shown as a link icon on the public venue page. |
| Contact phone / Contact email | Internal reference only. Neither appears on the public page. |
| Internal notes | Load-in, parking, wifi, anything your team needs. Never shown to buyers. |
| Storefront theme | The look applied to this venue's page and every event held here. Default look means no theme. |
| Active | Edit only. See Archiving and Deleting. |
Media
| Item | Where it appears publicly |
|---|---|
| Logo | A small square mark. Shown at the top left of the venue page hero, sitting on the cover photo. Also used as the venue's thumbnail in your dashboard venue list. |
| Cover photo | A wide banner. Fills the venue page hero behind the name, fading into the page background, and is used as the venue page's social sharing image. |
| Gallery | Photos of the space. Shown as a scrolling strip in the "About" section, and clicking one opens a full-size lightbox. |
The gallery holds up to 12 images and you can drag them to reorder. Logo, cover, and gallery all accept PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP up to 5 MB each. Uploading a new logo or cover replaces the old one in place.
Social Links
Each of the six platform fields takes a full profile URL. Whatever you fill in appears as a row of icons in the "About" section of the public venue page, alongside the website link. Blank fields are simply left out.
Time Zone
The time zone is a default, not a permanent link:
- Creating an event from this venue sets the event's time zone to the venue's, unless you set one explicitly on the event.
- While the event is still a draft, re-saving it with this venue selected re-applies the venue's time zone the same way.
- Once the event is published, the venue's time zone stops copying onto it. Buyers are holding tickets whose printed times key off the event's time zone, so a later venue edit must never shift them.
The Public Venue Page
Every venue has a page at resyevents.com/v/{slug} as soon as it is created. It shows, in order:
- A hero band with the cover photo, the logo, the venue name, and its city and state.
- Upcoming Events: a grid of your published events at this venue, soonest first, each with its poster, date and start time, and a "from" price. An event stays in this list until it has finished, so a multi-day festival does not vanish on its opening day.
- About: the description, the address with an Open Map link, the social and website icons, and the photo gallery.
Only published events appear, and only events that were authored from this saved venue. An event whose venue you typed in by hand is not linked to the venue and will not show up here.
The Address in the Public Link
The slug is built once when the venue is created, from its name, its city, and a short unique suffix (for example the-grand-hall-chicago-3f9a2b1c). It never changes afterwards. Renaming a venue or correcting its city leaves the page at the same address, so links you have already shared keep working.
How Details Reach an Event
When you pick a saved venue while creating or editing an event, Resytech copies the venue's name and single-line address onto the event as a snapshot:
- Editing a venue does not rewrite events you have already authored. They keep the details as they were when you last saved them.
- Re-saving an event with the venue still selected re-copies the current name and address onto it. This is how you push a corrected address onto an existing event.
- Clearing the venue on an event returns it to manually typed venue name and address.
The link back to the venue is what puts an event on the venue page, so an event you detach from the venue also drops off that listing.
Archiving and Deleting
Archiving is the everyday tidy-up. Turn off Active on the Details tab and the venue disappears from the venue picker when authoring events. Nothing else changes: events already using it keep their details, and the public venue page keeps working, because deleting the page would break the venue link on every show you have already published. An event you are editing that already uses an archived venue still shows it in the picker so you do not lose it by accident.
Deleting is permanent and only possible for a venue no event has ever used. If any event references it, the delete is refused and you are told to archive it instead. Deleting removes the venue's page, its logo, cover, and gallery photos.
Archived venues show an Archived badge in the venue list, and every venue card shows how many events have been created from it.
