Incidents
Link Records to an Incident
Connect the booking, customer, equipment units, and guests involved in an incident from its detail page.
Linking records gives an incident its full context — the reservation, the customer, the specific units, and the guests who were there. All linking happens on the incident's detail page.
Before you begin
- The incident must already exist. See Create an Incident.
- The records you link must belong to your current location.
Link a booking
- Open the incident's detail page.
- In the sidebar, find the Booking section and click to set or change the booking.
- Search by customer name, email, or confirmation code, and select the reservation.
- Click Save Changes.
Linking a booking also unlocks guest linking (below).
Changing or removing the booking clears any linked guests, because guests belong to the booking. Get the booking right first, then add guests.
Link a customer
- In the sidebar, find the Customer section and choose a customer.
- Click Save Changes.
The customer link is independent of the booking — use it when the person involved isn't the booking holder, or when there's no booking.
Link equipment units
- On the Equipment section, click Edit.
- Select one or more units involved (you can link several — for example, both watercraft in a collision).
- Save. Remove a unit any time with its × button.
Link guests
Guests are only available when a booking is linked.
- On the Guests section, click Edit.
- Choose the guests involved from those on the linked booking.
- Save.
What happens next
- Linked records appear in the incident sidebar with quick links to open the booking or customer.
- The incident list shows the linked booking's confirmation code, the customer name, and the number of equipment units.
Tips
- Equipment and guest links save immediately when you edit them. The booking and customer links save when you click Save Changes on the detail page.
- No link is required. An incident can stand on its own with no booking, customer, equipment, or guests.
