Add-Ons & Amenities

Attach optional extras and filterable amenity tags to your equipment.

Add-Ons

Add-ons are optional extras that customers can include with their rental. They are linked to specific equipment items and appear during checkout when a customer selects that equipment.

Examples

  • Helmets and safety gear
  • Life jackets
  • GPS units
  • Phone mounts
  • Coolers or storage bags

Setting Up Add-Ons

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > Add-Ons
  2. Click Add New
  3. Configure:
    • Name and description
    • Price — flat fee or per-day
    • Linked equipment — which equipment items this add-on applies to
    • Image — optional photo

Add-ons appear during checkout when a customer selects the linked equipment.

Add-On Assignment Settings

When you assign an add-on to a piece of equipment, you configure the following settings:

SettingDescription
QuantityDefault quantity of this add-on available per assignment
EnabledToggle to make this add-on active or inactive for the linked equipment
LimitMaximum number of this add-on a customer can select
Limit TypeHow the limit is applied (see below)

Limit Types

The Limit Type controls how the add-on quantity limit is enforced:

Limit TypeDescription
Per EquipmentThe limit applies per unit of equipment rented. If a customer rents 3 kayaks and the helmet limit is 1 per equipment, they can add up to 3 helmets.
Per BookingThe limit applies to the entire booking regardless of how many equipment units are rented. A limit of 2 means 2 total for the whole booking.
Per PersonThe limit applies per guest on the booking. If there are 4 guests and the limit is 1 per person, up to 4 can be added.

How Add-Ons Work in Bookings

When a booking includes equipment with add-ons:

  • Each booked equipment unit tracks its own add-on selections independently
  • Add-on quantities are recorded per booking-equipment combination
  • Add-on pricing is calculated based on the selected quantity and the add-on's price configuration

Amenities

Amenities are descriptive tags that help customers filter and compare equipment. Unlike add-ons, amenities have no price and are not selectable -- they describe built-in features of the equipment.

Examples

  • Wi-Fi enabled
  • Bluetooth speaker
  • Built-in cooler
  • USB charging port
  • Cup holders

Managing Amenities

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > Amenities
  2. Create amenity tags with a name and icon
  3. Assign amenities to individual equipment items

Amenities appear on the equipment card in the checkout, helping customers make informed choices.

Assigning Amenities to Equipment

Amenities are assigned as a list on each equipment item. You can:

  • Select multiple amenities from your location's amenity library
  • Update the full list of amenities at any time (the entire set is replaced on save)
  • The same amenity can be assigned to multiple pieces of equipment
