Assign Amenities

How to create location-wide amenities and assign them to equipment so customers can see features like WiFi, Bluetooth, or GPS.

Amenities are reusable feature tags that you assign to equipment items. They appear on equipment listings and help customers compare options. Unlike properties (which are unique to a single equipment item), amenities are defined once at the location level and shared across multiple items.

Examples: WiFi, Bluetooth Speaker, GPS Navigation, Cup Holder, Storage Compartment, Shade Canopy, USB Charging.

Step 1: Create an amenity

Amenities are managed at the location level and can be assigned to any equipment item.

  1. In the sidebar, click Amenities to open the amenity list.
  2. Click Create Amenity.
  3. Fill in the fields:
FieldRequiredDescription
NameYesThe amenity label (e.g., "WiFi", "Bluetooth"). Must be unique within your location.
DescriptionNoAn optional explanation of the amenity.
Icon TypeYesHow the amenity icon is displayed. Same options as equipment properties: No Icon, Font Awesome Icon, or Upload Image (coming soon).
IconConditionalRequired when Icon Type is "Font Awesome Icon" or "Upload Image". Click Select Icon to browse the icon library.
  1. Click Create.

Step 2: Assign amenities to equipment

  1. In the sidebar, click Equipment, then select the equipment item.
  2. Navigate to the Amenities section on the equipment detail page.
  3. Click Assign Amenities. A list of available (unassigned) amenities appears.
  4. Select the amenities you want to assign. You can select multiple at once.
  5. Click Save.

The selected amenities now appear on the equipment's detail page and customer-facing listing.

Remove an amenity from equipment

  1. On the equipment's Amenities section, find the amenity you want to remove.
  2. Click the Remove or X button on the amenity tag.
  3. Confirm the removal.

This only removes the assignment -- the amenity still exists at the location level and can be reassigned.

Delete an amenity

Deleting an amenity removes it from your location and from all equipment it was assigned to.

  1. In the sidebar, click Amenities.
  2. Find the amenity and click Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

This cannot be undone.

Tips

  • Amenities help customers filter and compare. If a customer is choosing between two jet skis, seeing that one has Bluetooth and the other does not can influence their decision.
  • Keep the list manageable. Having 30 amenities dilutes their value. Focus on the features that genuinely differentiate your equipment.
  • Use icons for visual impact. Amenities with Font Awesome icons are more scannable than plain text. Choose icons that intuitively represent the feature.
  • Amenities are display-only. They do not affect pricing, scheduling, or availability.
  • The assignment count on the amenity list page shows how many equipment items each amenity is currently assigned to, helping you identify unused amenities.
