Set Equipment Pricing
How to configure the additional price charged when a piece of equipment is included in a booking.
Use equipment pricing when you want to charge customers an extra fee for selecting a specific piece of equipment. For example, upgrading from a standard kayak to a premium kayak might cost an additional $25. Equipment with a price of $0.00 is included at no extra charge.
How equipment pricing works
Each equipment item has an Additional Price field. When a customer selects this equipment during booking, the additional price is multiplied by the quantity they select and added to the booking subtotal. This is separate from the base activity price.
Example: A customer books a "Jet Ski Tour" activity priced at $100, and selects 2 units of "Deluxe Jet Ski" at an additional price of $30 each. The equipment line on their invoice shows $60 (2 x $30).
Steps
- In the sidebar, click Equipment.
- Click the equipment item you want to price.
- On the equipment detail page, locate the Additional Price field in the general settings section.
- Enter the per-unit price you want to charge (e.g.,
30.00). - Click Save.
Field reference
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Additional Price | The per-unit surcharge added to the booking total when this equipment is selected. Set to 0.00 for equipment included at no extra cost. |
Tips
- Pricing is per unit, per booking. If a customer selects 3 units at $20 each, they pay $60 in equipment fees.
- Use $0 for standard equipment. If all your kayaks cost the same, set the additional price to
0.00and let the activity price cover the cost. Reserve additional pricing for premium upgrades. - Equipment price appears as a separate line item on booking confirmations and invoices, so customers can see exactly what they are paying for.
- Add-ons have their own pricing. If you want to charge for optional extras like a GoPro mount or extra life jacket, use add-ons instead of equipment pricing.
