Change Price for Specific Dates

How to increase or decrease prices for holidays, peak season, weekends, or any specific dates.

Use this guide when you need to charge more (or less) on certain dates -- for example, a Fourth of July surcharge, a winter discount, or weekend premium pricing.

Raise the Price on a Single Date

This is the most common scenario: you want to charge extra on a specific holiday or event day.

  1. Go to Activities > [Activity Name] > Settings > Pricing.
  2. Click Add Modifier.
  3. Set Modifier Type to Date.
  4. Set Method to Flat Amount (to add a fixed dollar surcharge) or Percentage (to add a percentage on top of the base price).
  5. Enter the Amount. For example, enter 15 with Flat Amount to add $15, or 20 with Percentage to add 20%.
  6. Select the Date using the date picker.
  7. Optionally give it a Name like "July 4th Surcharge."
  8. Click Add Modifier, then Save Changes.

Lower the Price on a Single Date

Follow the same steps as above, but enter a negative amount. For example, -10 with Flat Amount subtracts $10 from the base price.

Set a Completely Different Price on a Date

If you want to override the base price entirely rather than adding or subtracting:

  1. Click Add Modifier and set Modifier Type to Date.
  2. Set Method to Fixed Price Override.
  3. Enter the exact price you want to charge.
  4. Select the date and save.

When the Fixed Price Override method is used, the price is set to exactly the amount you specify -- other modifiers of the same type will not stack on top of it.

Change Prices for a Date Range

For peak season or multi-week adjustments:

  1. Click Add Modifier and set Modifier Type to Date Range.
  2. Set the Start Date and End Date.
  3. Choose your method and amount.
  4. Save.

This modifier applies to every day within the range (inclusive on both ends).

Change Prices for Multiple Non-Contiguous Dates

If you need the same price change on several scattered dates (e.g., all holiday Mondays throughout the year):

  1. Click Add Modifier and set Modifier Type to Dates (Multi-Date).
  2. Select all the dates you want the modifier to apply to.
  3. Choose your method and amount.
  4. Save.

This is more efficient than creating individual Date modifiers for each day.

Change Prices by Day of Week

For recurring patterns like weekend premiums or weekday discounts:

  1. Click Add Modifier and set Modifier Type to Days of Week.
  2. Check the days you want the modifier to apply to (e.g., Saturday and Sunday).
  3. Choose your method and amount.
  4. Save.

This modifier applies every week on the selected days, indefinitely.

Change Prices by Time of Day

For happy hour discounts or sunset tour premiums:

  1. Click Add Modifier and set Modifier Type to Time Range.
  2. Set the Start Time and End Time.
  3. Choose your method and amount.
  4. Save.

The modifier applies when the booking's start time falls within the specified range.

Handling Conflicting Modifiers

When multiple modifiers apply to the same booking, they all stack. For example, if a booking falls on a Saturday (weekend premium +$10) that is also July 4th (holiday surcharge +$15), both modifiers apply for a total of +$25.

To prevent stacking, mark a modifier as Exclusive. An exclusive modifier prevents other modifiers of the same type from applying. For example, if you have a general weekend modifier and a specific holiday modifier, marking the holiday modifier as exclusive ensures only the holiday price applies -- not both.

Tips

  • Always click Save Changes at the bottom of the Pricing page after adding or editing modifiers. Modifiers are not saved until you do.
  • Use the modifier Name field to label your rules clearly. When you have many modifiers, names like "Memorial Day +$20" are much easier to manage than unnamed entries.
  • For a comprehensive overview of all pricing options, see Set Up Pricing.
